Challenge

 Due to the high water demand in the town, the treatment plant was unable to maintain the water level in the town’s reservoir, and gradually, the level was reducing, risking the water supply in the network.

Solution

 Sapsorb Water Services had a technical support contract with our client and was engaged to provide the best solution for this challenge. After careful study of the treatment plant, including the treatment capacity, the raw water flow was increased to the maximum, and a disabled media filter was installed online along with the UF system. The water balance between conventional and advanced treatment was carefully calculated.

Results

 Both systems operated in parallel without any issues. The town reservoir level started gaining within 12 hours and the levels were reached at high level in 48 hours. This solution eliminated the risk of the town losing water and avoided expensive water carting.
