Challenge
A recently upgraded water treatment plant had issues with the power supply interlock, and our client was unable to operate the plant, which resulted in an interrupted water supply to the town. Also, the UF membrane was fouling due to prolonged shutdown.
Solution
Sapsorb Water Services had a technical support contract with our client and was engaged to provide the best solution for this challenge. After careful fault finding and implementing strategic troubleshooting skills, the problem with the mains power supply was identified and rectified using a licensed electrician. The water treatment plant was put into operation, and all parameters were checked, to ensure stable and quality water for the town’s supply.
Results
The systems operate without tripping, eliminating the membrane fouling and disinfection issues. Also, all the alarms were eliminated, and the plant operated seamlessly to supply adequate quality water to the community.
